Sota, is a registered member of the Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) and an active member of the state branch, Rivers State Counselling Association of Nigeria (RIVCASSON). She started her academic pursuit as a historian after she earned her first degree in History, Her innate quest for service to humanity propelled her into bagging a second degree in Law and a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counselling at Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo.

She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) Nigeria. She is presently a lecturer at the Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo and serves at the Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling. Sota, was appointed a Cell Leader of (RSUCASSON) in 2022, being an educator for close to 3 decades and guided by the ethos of her teaching and counseling profession, she was driven by genuine concern for the mental health and well-being of the students, other members of the school community and the larger society. To achieve this, greater priority was placed on the sensitization and advocacy of counselling.

She collaborated with (RIVCASSON) where she served in many committees to promote and actualize their expected goals some of which are: being host to the international Counselling Association Conferences, Biennial Conferences, workshops and seminars. Sota’s life and service to God and humanity is characterized by a mindset of humility and love.

She is married to an accomplished Medical Doctor, Dr. Henry A. M. Sota, and they are blessed with six children and many grandchildren.
