The Counselling Association of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter (RIVCASSON), has launched an anti-bullying campaign aimed at addressing the growing issue of bullying in schools and communities across Rivers State. The initiative, supported by local schools, government bodies, and law enforcement, seeks to raise awareness about the harmful effects of bullying while promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
The campaign focuses on three main areas: awareness, prevention, and intervention.
Workshops and training sessions are being conducted for students, teachers, and parents to foster understanding and develop strategies for addressing bullying. Students are encouraged to become active participants in combating bullying through an ambassador program that equips them with leadership skills, conflict resolution techniques, and peer support.
RIVCASSON is also working closely with law enforcement to ensure that bullying cases are properly addressed, advocating for stronger policies within schools to prevent bullying. The campaign utilizes traditional and digital media to reach a broad audience, ensuring the message resonates across the state.
By engaging multiple stakeholders, RIVCASSON aims to create a safer, more inclusive environment where children can learn and grow without fear of harassment.
As the campaign progresses, RIVCASSON remains committed to fostering a community based on respect, empathy, and kindness.
